Originally from the North suburbs of Chicago, I began my career back in high school, but not with film. It all started when I began singing my Junior year and fell in love with the idea of being an entertainer. Prior to getting the acting bug, I was an avid video game player and even had the privilege of being a published writer for a nationally publicized video game magazine at the age 16.
I had been accepted to the theater school at Western Michigan University and thought I was on my way. After a couple years in the program, I was beginning to lose my love for performing, but I still wanted to be in the entertainment industry in some capacity. I took an introduction to film course and fell in love. It was the first time that I had ever read a text book cover to cover. A friend of mine introduced me to Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge! and I was captivated. Upon discussing the film, my friend told me that all the things I really loved about the film dealt with the editing and visual effects. So I dug a little deeper and discovered that film editing combined my love for technology and my love for theater.
After my discovery, I began teaching myself iMovie, then Final Cut Pro, and finally, Avid. While self teaching myself was going well, I wanted to learn more and I had always wanted a master's degree. So for me, my next step was film school.
I got my MFA in Film Editing from the American Film Institute in 2007 and it was an amazing experience. Since graduating, I have been fortunate enough to have a successful career from tent pole studio features, animated films, and TV (network and streaming). I've spent the last 3 years exclusively working at Marvel Studios (WandaVision, She-Hulk, Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3) which was a huge dream of mine. I hope to one day sit alongside the great film editors that have come before me and inspire others as they have inspired me.
